About

About Midwest Plastic Engineering

A custom injection molder with more than 50 years of experience, built on a fleet of presses purchased new and meticulously maintained, and a commitment to consistent, repeatable production.

Who We Are

Midwest Plastic Engineering, Inc. is primarily a custom injection molder serving demanding industries across North America. The company traces its roots to Baker Mold and Tool, founded in 1972; Midwest Plastic Engineering was established in 1975, and the two operated side by side until they merged under the Midwest Plastic Engineering name in 1980. In the decades since, we have grown to 32 injection presses ranging from 75 to 850 tons, adding in-house assembly and value-added services so we can deliver complete, finished components rather than just molded parts. Founded by Dennis and Judy Baker, MPE remains family owned and operated to this day.

MPE operates from an 80,000 sq ft facility in Sturgis, Michigan, with a team of about 35 full-time employees. We are a 100% woman-owned company, family owned and operated, and a proud member of AIAG, the Michigan Manufacturers Association, and the Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors (MAPP).
